The listing, VINTAGE 1930s Photo POSTCARD Kastelholm Castle ~ Aland, FINLAND has ended.
This may be the only vintage postcard of Finland that I have come across in my collection. It does have some damage, as the previous owner removed the stamp and took some of the postcard backing with it.
However, older Finnish postcards are rather rare, at least in my travels, so it may fit into your collection, regardless of that paper loss.
Kastelholm Castle is a Swedish-built medieval castle located in Sund, Åland, Finland,
Kastelholm is one of only five surviving Finnish medieval fortresses that are also considered to be architecturally substantial.
The castle was gutted and ruined in 1745. In the 1930s, it was partially used as a grainary. However, since then it has been refurbished and is now an important part of the tourist circuit in Åland.
I believe the card is a 1930s. Since the postmark is missing, and I have not been able to find another like it, I can't be sure, but I found one other card by this photographer and it was dated 1932.
