**please note: this phone was given to me. since i have a phone and am on a contract i don't need this one. my mother gave this to me because she too has a cellphone already. i don't know how long ago this phone was bought. and it says that this phone can only be used on verizon prepaid service during the first 6 months after activation. so with that being said bid at ur own risk.

the reason they do activation at register is because if the register from a store does not activate it at register then they could detect if it has been stolen from the store hope this helps :)

They are talking about activation threw the phone itself for the 6 months if it hasn't been open and the phone itsself hasn't been activated it should be fine
