The back of the plaque gives a brief synopsis of the Mrs. Albee tradition and is dated 1988.
Over the blurb is a sticker that reads:
"REF. #9501 MRS. ALBEE PLAQUE - INCENTIVE
1st proof of front decal.
Note: This Plaque is for Evaluation of Front decal Proof Purpose only.
Sudo. Nagoya, Japan"
I believe this is unique proof sample of an incentive promotion or program that may or may not have been used by Avon, because I have not been able to find the existence of a Mrs. Albee plaque anywhere in my research on the Internet. However, I am not an Avon collector so I don't know for certain the origins, purpose, or execution of use of this beautiful plaque.
In excellent condition with some light soiling to the bisque finish back. Please note that the photos show shadow that I wasn't able to eliminate with my little camera. There is no darkness or shadow to the front of the plaque! It is poor camera & lighting quality that shows in the photos.
