This 'melon' boasts a slightly citrus flavour with dense meaty flesh (more like a squash) that holds up during cooking. I have had it in the stew called Sambhar whilst abroad but have also used it in a lemon pepper chicken casserole and it was excellent. As for this cuke's growth. I grew it in a 5 gallon pot. It was slow to flower and put off melons during the heat of summer here in Texas but as the fall approached this little guy made 18 melons just over a month! This melon/ cuke is definitely worth a try to liven up dinnertime and for the more adventurous, recipes abound online for Indian cuisine.
