Description

The listing, 30 GB IPOD - PLEASE SEE DESCRIPTION! has ended.

I won this IPOD off of Listia a few months back thinking my boyfriend could fix it. He can't. While it charges, and turns on, I can't get it to play through headphones or an IPOD dock. There is a TON of music on it(from the previous LISTIA owner), and it's a shame I can't get it to work. The middle button you have to push a bit hard, but works. And the hold button works, but is warped. This would be a great find for anyone who can fix this. FREE US SHIPPING! I usually ship within 3 days of auction end. THIS IS FOR JUST THE IPOD. NO CORDS OR HEADPHONES!

Please ask any questions before the auction ends. Thank you and happy bidding!

Just my 2 cents: I owned the #1 iPod repair business in the world before I sold it to its current owner. I have fixed thousands of iPods, the majority being the 30 gig iPod video like the one here. I can tell you with absolute certainty that if you cannot get sound to play out of the headphone jack and you can't get it to play out of the dock connector either, then the main logic board inside the iPod needs to be replaced. I wanted to share this so that whomever wins the auction knows exactly what they are getting themselves into. It is a great auction item if you can do the repair.

as i said...we couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. had multiple friends try to get it to work on their docs/usb's/cords, ect. nothing. but the thing looks good, turns on, buttons seem to work on the screen...and there's a ton of music on it.

is it a dock that connects via the usb plug of the output jack

not sure what you mean? it is a regular ipod with a headphone jack, and an ipod jack(most of them have usb's on the other end) to attach to a computer...

you plug it into the computer to sync your ipod, charge it, etc. you plug the headphone jack into headphones or various speakers. you can also put the ipod on a docking station which isn't a computer, but will play your music. it's a regular ipod, man. :-)

Don't know if you'll look at this again raymoyers, but it is a pretty hard fix then? I have this ipod, and it has the same problem. Except it sometimes plays for a minute, then gets a weird staticy sound and stops. It does that with both the headphone jack and the docking port. The apple store said it wasn't a hard drive problem.

Could it be water damage? Moisture issues? Raymoyers, how much do you think it will cost to fix at repair shop?
