am auctioning off an assortment of organic beans for planting in the garden. This is for at least three varieties of beans: navy, kidney, black beans, red beans, soybeans, lima beans. I am listing all the ones available. The winner can choose if they want me to omit a certain variety. There will be at least 30 beans going out to the winner. That is a possible ten plants of three types when planted :-)
As you probably already know, beans are an excellent (and inexpensive) source of vegetarian protein. But, unfortunately, the canned variety can be full of additives and chemicals. Why not use dried beans instead? They’re just as tasty and even cheaper than canned. Of course, they can be a little time intensive to cook from scratch so you might want to consider making a large quantity and freezing some in smaller batches.

They’re low in fat, and are versatile enough to absorb flavor from a wide variety of flavors and spices. With so many warnings about chemicals in canned foods, now might be the time to make the switch to home-cooked beans
