I know absolutely nothing about routers, so I need to find out if this router would be suitable for connecting a PS3 to the cable internet on my computer, which has XP Professional. Thanks for your help

Sorry I am not much help there.smile We just had them hooked up to the internet by ethernet connection, I'm not sure about Playstations or if that can be done. Sorry I cant be of more help.

Maybe take a picture of the bottom of the router. That has the location of the Model #.

They are both Netgear 54 mbs wireless routers, model WGR 614 v7..serial's are 1J13877MO4415 and (not sure if that is a zero or letter o) LOL 1J13887B0D60C Again cant tell zero from o so my apologies there......

Nope, I do not have the disks but don't think they were needed, there is a reset in the back a pin can go into, and I never had a problem getting it straight up on my screen without a disk....It went straight to the netgear setup...
