Despite lacerating a kidney during minicamp in 1995, Myers continued with his football dreams - playing with the Miami Dolphins (1995-1996), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1999), Oakland Raiders (1999-2000), New York Jets (2000-2001) and the Canadian Football League's Edmonton Eskimos (1997-1998)

Once he left the NFL, his life took a different turn in 2002 when he joined Kyle Petty's pit crew.

In 2003, he joined Dale Earnhardt Inc., where he was part of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s pit crew when he won the Daytona 500 (2004) and was part of the two-time Busch Series (now Nationwide Series) championship winning crew of Martin Truex Jr. (2004-2005).

Myers joined Robert Yates Racing in 2006 before settling in with Michael Waltrip Racing as a front-tire changer on the No. 55 Napa Camry beginning in 2007.
