The beautiful Homeland. I was lucky enough to see some of those views in living color during my childhood.

I dunno... i am not sure BUT we have a "national song" that goes:
Saare Jahan se achhha Hindostan hamara ;-)
Literally translated, it means,
Better than all the world, our *Hindostan

se achhha ( as compared to ) & jahan ( world )
*Hindostan =
* Another name for INDIA, derived by the British from INDUS river
now flowing through what is known as Pakistan >>(h)Indo

I was born much after the partition but my mother was born in what
is now Pakistan. The family had to flee when mum was a teenager.
Dad was among the students @ Gordon College, Lahore and many
current & old students love to remain in touch.
The Railway line in Pakistan's North West was laid under supervision
( jointly ) of my great-grandfather.

So much for history and reminiscences !
I am on Listia mainly for my hobby of STAMP COLLECTION & going
bonkers over GERMANY ( pre-1956 - my year of birth )

Coming to think of it, if all Listians were to write me a nicely stamped
letter each for my upcoming birthday ( April 10, Montag ) - we could
create a new "Guiness World Record"
