The listing, Turquoise Hearts Sing with Silver and Jade Stones by Stacey 18 inch has ended.

This necklace is Stacey's entry in this weeks, "who makes better jewelry, me or him". :)

A cool story to go with this necklace. I needed laundry money this last weekend, cause we don't have a washer/dryer. Well anyways, I prayed and asked God to provide. We took a walk and found a yard sale, on a road we don't usually take. The lady was selling very NICE jewelry for $1.00. She said she had tons and loved to collect things. I offered her some of my necklaces as a trade. She agreed and also gave me the extra cash I needed to be able to do laundry. Praise God. So, one of the necklaces had this wonderful green stones that she said she paid a lot for. I used most of them to remake it into a necklace and bracelet and even earrings for me and this is what is left. I think its jade and some other nice stones.

I added my turquoise hearts I won on here and some silver and stone spacers. This is a very nice necklace with possibly very expensive jade beads. Tell me what you think. Really and give me more than just its pretty or nice. Tell me WHY? Thanks.

Questions & Comments

The green round stones could be amazonite or some type of jadeite or nephrite. Amazonite is generally a paler, bluer green. The yellow beads look like stone too, are thery?

Whatever they are it's a very interesting creation ... very pretty soft colors, very calming! Good story too ...Looks like you had a lot more fun making this than doing laundry!

yes, not sure what they are but there were several different stones. I love the color scheme of this one and the other one I made has pinks in it. Its cool.

It's a beautiful title and story. Your spirit comes through in the telling. That's why the necklace is so special. My computer sometimes distorts colors. The person above me talked about earthtone colors, and I tend to avoid that due to my coloring. Is it really earthtone, mainly, would you say?

I think of earthtones as browns, but the turquoise heats and the other unknown beads in the bluish green are so calming, like the comments said. I agree they can be earthy but just a little bit of tanish brown to accent the bluish greens. thanks for the comments.

I love the story behind the necklace ( and I really wouldn't mind seeing a picture of the set you made for yourself :) (brnd1968@aol.com). I will tell you exactly WHY I like this necklace....When I looked at it, it had a very calming appeal :).I'm leaning towards the green ones being amazonite (although I would have to see it to be sure :) )because Amazonite really tends to have a very soothing influence (also great for soothing emotional trauma, and for alleviating worry and fear ;), and your piece IMMEDIATELY drew me because of that calm, soothing kind of feeling (you know, like when you bite into an Andes Mint!). Anyway, just thought I would compliment and share with you, also gonna bid :).
