This auction is for a FIRST YEAR MINTAGE "Variety 1" Copper-Nickel 1859 Indian Head Cent from the Civil War Era.
Being the first year after everyone was so used to the large cent, this smaller cent was a product of the civil war and never went back afterwards.
This particular coin does display a mostly visible Liberty putting it between a Fine and Very Fine condition.
