Hi Melmel. I believe the 1777 date on the stamp represents the date of the event. The first USA stamp was in a847 :) This stamp was probably like a 1977 stamp..... maybe. Cant always go by the dates on the stamps themselves. I know that this can get very confusing. Love the stamp though. Thanks!
