Description

The listing, Yard Long Beans green or red or purple has ended.

Really cool, actually grow up to 36 inches. Eat when pencil sized. Look so cool when growing. These beans have become mixed. I have some which come out green, reddish, and purple. No telling which will arrive.

They are really tasty too. I saw'em first in a travel show where a person was vegetable shopping in a Chinese market. They actually sell them in a bundle of ten or so, all tied in a knot. Too cool not to grow some. Love the things. Garlic stir-fry is mouth watering.

What is the best way to start these seed? I would really like the low down of how yo get these going!? Anny suggesstion? How many seeds should I start together in a hole 2? Do they multiply year after year or completely die off?

Not perennial. These are annuals. These are related to black-eyed peas, a tad different characteristics than the every day runner bean. They grow very hardily. Pland two together. There are two things I wished I'd known before I began growing them: they do make vigorous vines, so a good, fairly high place for them to climb, and they are best planted whent the ground is consistently warm, so after last frost.
