Long, elegantly hooded blooms, often freckled within, make lovely cut flowers and are left alone by deer and other nibbling creatures. This plant is a short-lived perennial or biennial, but self-sows easily if allowed to go to seed in the garden. Digitalis thrives in acidic soils, though not in full sunlight, in a range of habitats.
