This beautiful coin is about 1-1/2" in diameter and weighs 1oz. It is the 1972 Bicentennial Commemmorative Coin, made of bronze.
On the front is George himself and 'American Revolution Bicentennial, 1972' around the rim. On the back is 'Sons of Liberty' on the rim above what I presume is a cherry tree. There is also a seal on one side of the tree and a flag (?) on the other showing a snake in pieces and 'Join or Die'.

This coin is the first Bicentennial Medal. They were published each year up to 1976. It is gold-plated bronze. The coin is in a sealed plastic cover (at least I can't get it open) for protection. The pictures may show some scratches, but they will only be on the plastic cover. So far as I know, the coin has never been out of it's casing.
