Uncancelled 1935 U. S. Air Mail stamp on limited edition 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 inch card featuring a picture of the Pan Am China Clipper flying over the uncompleted Golden Gate Bridge in 1935 on the maiden Pacific Air Mail flight. The China Clipper, a flying boat aircraft, carried just over 50 passengers, cargo and air mail to Hawaii, Midway, Wake, Guam, and the Phillippines. The card includes an uncancelled 25 cent air mail stamp for air mail postage to the Pacific locations.

The card makes for easy framing. The 25 cent stamp was very expensive in 1935 when regular first class postage was only 3 cents and people could get a meal, called the Blue Plate Special, for 25 cents at cafes and diners during the dark days of the Depression. A quarter in 1935 had buying power of about $5 or $6 in today's inflated money.
