The listing, 1957 South African 1/2 D coin has ended.

I have a coin mounted into a pendant (could probably be removed). It says 1/2 D South Africa 1957 Suid-Afrika and has a ship on tail side. The head has Elizabeth II Regina. I don't know anything about coins to know if it's even worth anything, but someone actually had it mounted into a piece of jewelry at some point so it must have some value.

Hi, I seem to remember that in South Africa the 1/2 D is basically a one half penny coin. I don't know the type of metal used. Cool design though, A lot of old South African coins have that Pirate Ship type design. Do you know how large the coin is? half inch? quarter inch? etc.

It's exactly the size of a U.S. quarter. I have had this for some time now, just sitting in my jewelry box. I don't even remember where I got it from. It belongs to someone who know about coins. Someone who will treasure it more than I. Hint, hint ;)
