How to Grow Coneflower From Seeds
Coneflowers, which are perennial wildflowers native to North America, are easy to grow in the home garden. These tall flowers rise above mounds of medium green foliage. They look like daises, except that the center of the flower is raised in a cone shape, giving the flower its name. The flowers come in purple, pink and white. The plant is resistant to many insects and diseases and can even grow in poor soil. The flowers attract butterflies and birds love the seeds.

Instructions
1.Choose the site where the coneflowers will grow. These plants do best in full sun and well-drained soil.
2.Amend the soil in the area where the coneflowers are to be planted. Turn over the soil and add compost.
3.Sow seeds directly in the garden in the spring. The soil temperature should regularly be at least 55 degrees. Scatter the seeds over the flower bed and cover them with 1/4 inch of soil.
4.Water the coneflowers regularly. When the weather is dry make sure they get about 1 inch per week.
5.Thin the seedlings after they emerge. Space the plants about 12 to 18 inches apart.
