FREE: CUSTOM PAINTING

If I can get my two dogs to sit still for a photograph, would you do one painting of the two of them together? Also ... will you ever list an auction for a custom painting like this on wood, with one of your hand made frames? Your wrk is so nice, that people wouldn't mind paying the postage for shipping.

You could even find some stock photos of similar art. Look on overstock.com. They have a huge category of art, including many sets of small paintings (like the single flowers). You need to give people ideas of what they can do with the item. If you look at my listings, I post lots of photos of bracelets and other jewelry I have made with the stuff I'm selling on Listia. It really drives people to want to win multiple listings so they can re-create sometime similar at home.

A Shepherd/Pitt mix, and a Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. It'll be difficult, but I'm going to try and get them to hold still for a photo :-)

Love it, but next time, put MORE detail in the TITLE. "Original Painting from YOUR Photo .. Your PET, your HOUSE, your GARDEN" something like that. I also think you should list several of them in different categories. I honestly think the Pet category would be HUGE, I'll bet TONS of people would love a painting of their cat or dog.

Also, use a better first photo, maybe of a gorgeous flower. People love those small paintings or prints of one flower (they use them in groups). You might get buyers who want a painting of a flower from their garden, then they would come back to get a few more to create an art grouping.

AND even offer paintings such as the color stripes and other contemporary styles. If you watch some of the home shows on TV you can kind of get a feel for what people are looking for.

Anyway, I'll stop ... hope that gives you some ideas!

Okay, one more, in your title Original Painting 8x10 EASY to FRAME .... just another suggestion. Keep in mind these might take a month or two to catch on, but I think people would list items JUST to win something like this if they want it. I lot of people do that with my stuff, they win one thing, they want more, they list something to get it. That's why it could take a little time to grow.

Fruits is another idea. People love paintings of fruits (and other foods) for the small wall spaces they might have in a kitchen or dining area.

Post a photo of that painting of the wine .... post LOTS of photos! Give people LOTS of ideas! Be sure to include in your description that folks should LOOK at all the photos for some creative ideas! Do they want something for their kitchen, their bathroom? Small art in spaces like that can have a huge impact! I have a little Monet print in my powder room and everyone loves it.

Developing a selling strategy on Listia is a big learning curve. You really have to think it through, promote your items like other companies do. Marketing is usually a much bigger job than actually providing the product (in your case, painting something). I think a lot of artists believe that if they create something beautiful people will buy it, but marketing is a MUCH bigger part of the picture. You've got to convince people to want what you are selling. That's the key!

I just realized I already have a bid on this listing. I hope it gets a lot of bids, but maybe I can win this next week. I'd love to have one of your paintings!
