Bird's Eyes

Hardy annual. Often self-sows. Attractive tri-colored flowers, white with edges blushed in lilac--centers are purplish black! Very unique-looking annual that likes a dry, sunny area.

Birds Eyes require full sun, up to only partial shade. This flower needs well-drained soil with an average nutrient composition. Although it can handle some sandy soil. Its seed is best propagated by sowing outdoors, in cool climates. Birds Eyes can adapt to many different climate conditions. It is more cold tolerant than most flowers but its stem is weak and because of that it does not do well when transplanted. There are over 100 species of Gilia. This one can be fall planted in zones 7-10.

. . . Positive feedback on an auction I won from Christine was left too soon & didn't mention the fast delivery & what a truly fantastic Listian she is. I owe her.

~*~*~I have been told that I am supposed to say in my description, that these are not retail packages of seeds. I own a greenhouse and purchase my seed in bulk packages. They come mostly in 1,000-10,000 seed packages from a commercial supplier. I can not use this amount of seed in all the differant varieties. So I repackage them in small plastic zippy bags and place a sticker on the outside of the bag with sowing and growing instructions. and list them here on Listia. Each packet has been hand counted and will contain ATLEAST the amount of seed won. 98% of the time there is more than that in the baggie. Several of the seeds I list are smaller than a dust particle and I can not count these. In these cases you will often find 3-5x the amount won. All seed auctions will now contain a photo of a seed baggies to show what it looks like. It will NOT be the actual packet you are bidding on. It is only a sample.

~*~*~Also, I package seeds very well, well enough that I often have to pay extra postage so they arrive safely to you. You will not get a crushed seed. If what you receive looks crushed, it is only because that is the size of the seed.

~*~*~Also, I ONLY ship to Listia verified addresses. I copy and paste what you have listed on Listia as an address. If it does not reach you...check your mailing info. I ship to where it tells me to ship.

~*~*~If you have issues with ANY of this, DO NOT BID!!! I do this to earn credits to suppliment my income and purchase gifts. I do not have the extra money to spend on reshipping items, nor do I like giving credits back because someone does not or can not read the description and expects something differant thnt what is listed.

These are the rules, guidelines and other *^%&$&$%& that I am forced to have to explain because some people cant read or ask questions BEFORE BIDDING.

Hey, Christine,
. . . Who told you that?
. . . Nobody told me that. Nobody appears to have told anybody else that.
. . . I have a feeling it was the opinion of somebody who made an assumption & not able to accept personal responsibility, decided to blame you.
. . . You've heard the expression "Opinions are like a------s. Everybody has one."
. . . Non permitto illegitimati carborundum (Don't let the b-st-rds wear you down).
. . . You are "The bomb".
