The listing, Uncirculated 1943 Steel Lincoln Cent has ended.
Uncirculated 1943 Steel Lincoln Cent
During WWII there was a copper shortage because of munitions production. So in 1943 the US Mint made pennies out of steel. This is the only time they did this. Interestingly, you can pick these pennies up with a magnet. They are a real novelty; very unusual. You can give them to your kids; include them in birthday gifts; or just display them as something unusual. Many people do not even know about these and have never seen one. The winner of this auction will receive the exact coin shown the attached photos. This 1943 Steel Lincoln Cent is in very nice uncirculated condition.
It had not been dipped if that's what you mean. It looks to me to be in almost uncirculated condition. I bought a couple of rolls of old wheat pennies and there were several like this.
