This Stuff is Free Too:
Description

The listing, Scoop Free Automatic Litter Box has ended.

Works well, I just can't afford to keep buying the trays it needs. A crafty person could probably fabricate a permanent tray for it. NOTE: tray not included. Auction is for the automatic litter box and power adapter only.

I don't blame you for the no free shipping thing. $15; that nothing compared to The actual price of this would be around $80-$90 bucks. This is a bargain!

Free shipping is a possibility, but I will only consider it when the auction reaches a reasonable amount of credits. I wish I could give you more info, but this is my first time listing and to be honest I'm not really sure what to expect. If it was a small item I'd say definitely, but I know it will probably cost me at least $15 to ship.

The trays can be purchased on Amazon, on the Scoop Free website, and at Petco. I'm sure there are other options but those are the first few I found with a Google search. There was a person I found through a Google search once that created plastic permanent trays for them, but I'm not sure if he is still selling them. Unless you find a way to keep a permanent tray under it, you would need to use the Scoop Free brand trays. I hope this helps!

I found it! This is an example of the plastic tray you can buy so that you can use your choice of litter.

@allensara I'm still mulling that over. I'm pretty much broke, which is why I started using Listia in the first place. If the auction exceeds 1000 credits I'll probably do it. Thanks, fanned you as well.
@susycue You're very welcome. Fanned as well.
@twotton Thanks, I fanned you too. It does work very well. I'm a little sad to see it go, but I'm living on the cheap now and buying the trays or the plastic one just isn't in the budget. I know that whomever wins it will not be disappointed. It was only in use for about 4 months and then cleaned and placed in storage. Tried it before listing it and it works great.

They claim you *have* to use their litter, but I honestly think that is because they want the extra profit. Any litter that is light with the consistency of sand should be fine, because for a while we would dump the cardboard tray if it was still in decent shape and put Fresh Step litter in. We were able to save some money on the trays that way. Hope this helps!

Does it take special litter or can normal clumping litter work? One of my cats loves water so much, he likes to bat all the water out of the auto-cooler. He also likes to "swim" in the toilet.....if I just just get him to USE the toilet, what a treat that would be! An old beau toilet-trained his cat, but I can't see ours doing that. OK, I'll shut up now. ;-p

How much do the trays normally cost? I have three cats and my husband has resigned himself to the fact that I clean them hardly ever. He does it and I can usually get his son to do it too. I'm a bad person! LOL!

It varies. I think they are about $15 per tray. There are lots of results on Google shopping. No, I totally understand. My dislike for scooping litter prompted us to buy this, but I didn't know that a recurring cost was involved, and now I don't have the money to splurge on the plastic tray either. Instead of it sitting in storage I wanted to pass it along.
