Des, thanks for bidding on my auction, I'm a fan! I was looking at your photos and you're getting the "green effect." Try setting your camera on the "florescent" setting, and using a white background, no flash but use a small desk lamp you can move around to capture the detail with shadowing. Andm use a natural-daylight color bulb. The craft lamps (like Ott Light) have bulbs with that bluish color, but you can also buy bulbs such as Reveal brand in the supermarket.

I realize you got outbid but I will be listing at least one more camera that is VERY good for Listia closeup detail. I might go ahead and get it on Listia next week, ending in two weekends if you want to try to save some credits.

Also, with coins, you can get rid of that coloring by desaturating your photos with photo editing software. Check my camera listing for the link ... just desaturate all the color out, works great with silver coins and you don't lose the detail!
