The listing, External DVD ROM has ended.
Up for bids is a pretty pink USB external DVD ROM. It works, I just do not have a need for it. It also says Compact Disc rewritable Ultra Speed. I do not know who it is made by as I bought it off ebay and it was not in the original box. I do not have a manual, but you really do not need one. It is plug and play. I am offering free shipping on this one!
Questions & Comments
do u have the ac adapter for it looks like it has a plug in for it next to the usb plug-in
I do not have a ac adapter for it. Looking at the plug you are referring to it appears to be a headphone jack, there is a pic of what looks like headphones with a minus sign on one side and a plus sign on the other side.
make and model are NOT on the bottom...........I looked, as far as posting a picture, that would not help. The only writing on the bottom is things like "fragile", "do not drop" etc.
It does not have the USB port ,it has a plug that plugs in and has a USB plug on the other end that plugs into the netbook , laptop etc. I used it with my netbook because it did not have a cd/dvd drive and it worked great. I got rid of the netbook and no longer need the DVD/CD drive.
Just trying to Understand, as I see that You are getting kinda Hammered with Questions.... from what i have read in Your Replies.... 1: You used it by plugging its ONLY cord into You Notebook.... 2: Evidently, You watched DVD Movies on Your Notebook's Monitor.... 3: You Confirmed that You Did Not Use a Power Supply, SO, That means that it Got its Power, to operate it, from Your Notebook's USB port where You plugged in the Cord from the external DVD ROM ( Where you had the DVD inserted ).... 4: I'm kinda Confused about Your describing that ( somewhere ) on its case, You saw Cd-RW ? Possibly that means that it Can also Read ( Play Back ) items stored on a Cd-RW Disc and Most-Likely all standard CD's.... 5: O K so far.... Did You ever try to PLAY Back recorded "Music CD's" by using this ?.... WOW !.... I hope that You are Not Irritated by my Questions BUT.... I think that answers to my questions May provide answers to Many who are Watching Your Quite "Unique" External USB Powered DVD - ROM Drive !!!! AND Most need to realize that "ROM" Indicates that this device DOES NOT Create CD's nor DVD's because "ROM" means "Read Only Memory" = "Reads".... Not "Writes".... AND it Really is a "Unique" thing to have to use on Notebooks AND Laptops THAT HAVE A USB Connection Port.... Thanking You for Your possible Reply.... Now A....O K ! I will "Fan" You.... and "Watch".... Ol' Bob in Texas....
I came back for Just a Short.... "siennassales" above mt previous comment is Correct about "+" and "-" marks indicating to be Input from an external A/C adapter.... I'd like to suggest that.... This unit certainly does Not require much Power in Wattage or Volts to operate it, Because You have already been using it hooked up to your Notebook by the Only cord that is on the DVD drive.... Just Gotta Add.... I glanced at Your Facebook connection AND.... WOW ! Is that a Delicious Looking cake that You are showing in that Photo ????.... I'm gonna get another cup of Coffee, but I sure wish I had that cake on my kitchen counter top to have with my coffee !.... Smile !.... Bob in Texas of Our U S A....
I am sure you are all correct, but regardless, I do not have an AC adapter to go with this and the unit has been working this morning without one.I am playing a music CD on the unit, now as I type. The cake is long gone as it was my birthday cake last year for a milestone birthday. I had edible pictures of all my grandchildren on it is the reason I was so proud of it.
I do not know as I do not have any games to try, but it will play DVD movies, Music CDs, install program CDs and will burn a CD as I have tried all of the above.
