Here today, we have another one of my unusual FINDS from the plant world. This is one of the most unusual ones I have ever seen--I had NOOO idea this plant even existed. It is a sansevieria (Mother-in-Law's Tougne or Snake Plant) variety.) HOWEVER---the leaves are perfectly round!!! I got this one today---and you will be shipped the EAXCT BRAIDED plant in the photo. This one is a BABY and measures 2-3" tall. This will be the ONLY ONE I auction that is braided this way---they are EXPENSIVE. Anyway---if you are interested in the braided one--GET IT NOW.
This variety likes to be on the DRY side--taking little water, and does not mind low-light conditions. It takes fertilizer only once every few months.
This auction is for O*N*E braided baby shown in Photo #1 & #2. The BABY I am auctioning is between 2-3" tall. Baby will be shipped with roots wrapped in a damp paper towel, and that in plastic to preserve the moisture for the trip. Upon arrival, please be sure to have your pot and fresh potting soil ready to put it in it's new home. Put baby directly into soil and water lightly. I DO recommend placing in bright window or bright spot in your home for a short time to allow roots to establish themselves, and the plant to start growing!!

Do you suggest putting it in a small pot? I know the regular ones seem to multiply faster/grow faster when root bound. And I gather from your answer about the tie that the top of the plant does not increase in size enough that the plant would grow around the tie, as so many outside plants (especially trees) do?

Yes---a small poi is better---MILT LIKE to be rootbound---and they do grow better and multiply better that way. As far as the tie--NO---they are not like a TREE. The tie should be left as it is and the plant does not grow up and over it at all. Mine has the original tie--and the tie is the same today as it was 2 years ago. MILT grow UP taller---not out. Having done a LITTLE research, I cannot find any other reference to braiding this plant. Do you know of anyone that has a large one that was braided? I am watching and will probably bid later (if I don't fall asleep as I have before!). I have other MIL'sT, but have never had a round leaf one before. I am wondering if the tying might not eventually kill the plant; and am assuming that the tie must be raised as the plant grows??? Would appreciate any info you may have; if nothing, I guess I can experience a new experience, huh, should I win this one????

Yes---I have one that is 2 years old and about a foot tall. They are really cool--everyone who comes in thinks it is fake--LOL I tell them NOPE---real as they come. They tieing evidently doesn't bother them. It is like any other MILT---and does well in any lite conditions. and just have to watch over watering---they don't like too much water. As far as the tie at the top, plants grow from the bottom UP---not the top down---so the tie never moves.---NO---don't worry about that. Hope this all helps and thanks for asking!! :o)
