This copy of the $50 July 4, 1923 fight between Dempsey and Gibbons in Shelby MT was printed on a post card and issued in limited edition in 1983 upon the death of the great boxing champion. Heavyweight champion from 1919 to 1926 defended his crown against all comers. The copy looks great framed and perfect for the man cave or sports fan's den.

In a day when a T-bone steak cost only 50 cents, Shelby MT was asking $50 for ringside seates for the 4th of July 1923, championship fight. An octagon shaped wooden arena was built to seat 40,208 people and constructed at a cost of $82,000. The arena covered six acres and measured 558 1/2 feet in diameter and had 85 rows of seats and 16 entrances. Dempsey won 15 round match by judges ruling and Shelby, MT quietly returned to the backwater it had once been.
