Ok, here's what it is. I make window decorations out of beads and junk. It's been a life long passion of mine as I love the colors dancing on my walls when the sun comes up in the morning. I'm not an artist, I don't go to art shows, I've won no ribbons. I'm just an old lady with a passion for color and junk. I've never sold or even tried to sell my window art. My friend Marie has BEGGED me to just list one, so here it is Marie. She claims since I'm old folk, it qualifys for folk art. Who knows? Who cares, lol, I do it cause I like it. This piece is an antique ice cream scoop, very old one, with an old vintage broach on it, just cause I like them too. It is part of my kitchen art which are all made from old utensils that I hate to part with. I have many others, different items for different locations, lol. Even my outside trees sport some of my creations. If you have any insulting comments as to my art work they will be forwarded to Marie......LOL. Oh well, I do like this one.I'm just having trouble getting a good pic of it, the sun aint out today, oh well. It's what it is....

OMG youre gonna give marie a big head, she calls it art, I call it my eccentric conglamerations. Will be shocked if I even get a bid.....LOL. Well, my house is full of it, come on over for a visit and some coffee and I'll show you more. I string beads on lots of my stuff. I also build lots of my furniture, cause it's cheaper that way, and now I get people wanting some of this stuff. I use interesting crooked wood pieces and slabs and driftwood I drag out of the creek. My house is not normal.

Gonna get some balm of gilead, or bamagilly as grandma would have called it. Old lady lucy taught me how to make a salve to use for burns on it. Told me a story about a young indian warrior who was burned, i'll tell you the story tomarrow.

I know, I can't believe this weather. The moss was so warm, soft and smushy, there's no other carpet anywhere to compare to it. Creek was still too cold to jump in but I enjoyed just sitting and watching it. I like to gold pan when it gets a little warmer.

Well I want to make sure you understand that your items are truly unique and worth every credit/penny. I started out whittling when I was just a young thing, and I really enjoy it. That is a hobby lots of mountain folk, mostly men, partake in. I was laughing outloud the entire time I read your note. I didn't spend my entire life here in these hills and I lived many years in the swamps of Florida too. Loved them gators (the real ones) and the beautiful coral snakes. So much flora and fauna down there. I miss certain parts of it. I spent many hours last nite sitting in my gun safe downstairs to avoid the storm. First time I've ever had to resort to that. Town to the left of me and town to the right of me both were hit, went right up my valley and was a vicious nite. I will say, everyone knows everyone here, so the phone kept busy checking on and being checked on and keeping up with the status of the storm. Am drinking my coffee now, then will be out to assess damage and render assistance to whoever and whatever person or critter can use me. I can assure you, everyone who owns a chain saw will round up and we will all gather to "get r done". Wont be a cabin or cubbyhole left unchecked. Got vittles on the stove now brewing for the workers. Thanks for your concern,

I am glad you are ok, Cantankerous! I was so afraid yesterday, that I made myself sick! The storm cells just kept coming! I had a walk in closet ready with pillows, and like you we could hear it, the freight train sound, but it did not directly hit us! My in laws were greatly affected. And lots of people here without homes, and power! I do not understand, why we are getting so many tornados these days? I was in the ones last year(April) that killed so many here in Ga., (Ringgold), and Tn. If this is going to become routine, I am going to have to look into some sorta storm shelter!...Let us know how things are around you after you survey!

we were lucky, no fatalities but lots of damage. One good thing is the outpouring of neighbors pitching in and doing what has to be done. Both my younguns work emergency rescue type work and haven't heard from them lately. My daughter is also a storm chaser so she keeps me pretty updated when something is coming my way. Glad youre ok too. I was sick all nite from the stress myself. Gonna sleep good tonite i hope.

I realize a lot dont like to pay shipping, but if you have ten or more auctions a week it can really add up, I live off a meager ss check and just dont have the money to do it. Honestly, it will cost me more than 3.50 to mail this, and i usually charge a little less than it actually costs and pay that myself, plus live a fer piece to the post office. Because of this, I try listing items worth more than what shipping costs and take what credits fall my way. I buy a lot on here and don't really mind paying shipping if its something i really want and its a good deal. I just won two small pieces of jewelry from the same auctioneer, and had to pay ten bucks in shipping. I've also let stuff go and it went for really low credits and i was paying shipping at that time, and its like, i paid four bucks to mail it, gave them the item and only made a hundred or two credits. I wish there were a better method and i hear costs are going up. My husband died unexpectedly a few months back, im lucky to keep one lite burning some months. I barely make ends meet. I have no cash and is the only way i can afford to do it. I do feel bad about it. sorry.
