Description

The listing, Acer Aspire One d255e-13111 Netbook Laptop has ended.

Acer Aspire One d255e-13111

Intel Atom n455 CPU @1.66 Ghz, 2gigs DDR3 memory, Windows 7 OS, 250 gig Hard Drive

This laptop was used by my daughter for the last year for general internet use until recently when I upgraded her to a bigger laptop.

It comes with a free wireless Logitech mouse and usb dongle and also has a rubber keyboard cover to protect it from spills.

You have my 100% assurance that all BLOATWARE will be absent from this PC. and it will be running in 100% tip top shape.

I'm a stickler for keeping crapware off of your PC and this one will be wiped completely clean and set to only a standard windows 7 setup just for you and in addition will have AVG antivirus 2012 installed, Mozilla Firefox with ABP, and NOTHING ELSE. I always make it a point to uninstall ALL software from every laptop/PC I have ever purchased for myself, or my family as the first thing when booting up that new purchase. I made no exceptions with this now retired PC of my daughter's.

Honestly, ACER is the brand name I use for almost all the products in my home. My wife and daughter use ACER laptops, and my son uses an ACER monitor on his custom built PC.

The only REAL problem I have ever had with ACER is BLOATWARE and occasionally.. outdated drivers. Otherwise, they put out a great BANG FOR YOUR BUCK PC.

This laptop has been tested and runs at 2.3 on the Windows Experience Index with all drivers updated. It is MAXED OUT at 2 gigs of Kingston KAC-MEMHS/2G DDR3 memory that I upgraded via newegg.

It makes for a pretty good, lean mean mini laptop.

But of course!! Full specs here: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/netbook/2011/Acer/Aspire/AspireOneAOD255E/AspireOneAOD255Esp2.shtml

This would be the EXACT SAME model you would find at Wal-Mart except it has a memory upgrade of 2 gigs instead of the standard 1 gig module.

You know who I wanna see win this? Someone who has fought and fought their way by selling crap to earn the serious points needed for such a haul.

This site is CRAZY. I was going through some of the stuff and see people are trading coke points for credits.. well DAMN SON, if YOU can get enough damn coke points converted to enough damn credits to get a damn free laptop, more glory to ya.

You sure earned it from me.

Seems to me the burden is put on the seller/giver side here to deliver the goods. I guess I've never really thought of the idea of putting my goods up not for a monetary value, but a credit system where if I want to spend it, I'll have to get something from the website with the credits I have earned.

Interesting. Makes me wonder if this is even legal since it is an untaxed bartering system, but then, I did some research and learned listia has grown exponentially much to the criticism of many others over the last few years. I took down a few of my auctions and changed a few more to free shipping to accommodate the crowd. Honestly, I tossed this laptop in first without looking to see what else gets high bid sells and for how much. In hindsite, I should have probably started out with the other items I have listed and waited till I got feedback before listing this laptop. I guess that's what I get for being a noob. But, none the less. I'm liking this site so far, so I'm ALL IN no matter how much this finally goes for. Good luck to anybody who is bidding.

Sorry it's not just to Canada that the shipping would cost that much, that would be shipping international to anywhere in order to have tracking on it. You also cannot ship something in a flat rate priority box and get tracking internationally although many sellers believe you can. Thinking you can is a myth. It's always best to check with an established seller before doing something like this beforehand. Even the USPS employees don't always know what they are doing, I've found that out the hard way! Again, good luck!

Sorry, need to call you on that one.. I HAVE in fact, shipped overseas using the post office at very reasonable rates. However, I will concede I have not done so in over a year, and certainly not to Canada. I have made purchases from ebay for things like "HUGE NINTENDO PLUSHIES" that I won for a few cents and only paid a couple bucks shipping. Not to mention I order from places like bigboxstore and alibaba/aliexpress. Be nice if the world worked in an easier way for a home based global economy entrepreneur.. But, I guess rules are rules between different borders.

Now explain that to me please. I see the currency used on this place is credits. I am assuming the person bidding needs to have that actual number of credits in their account. Don't understand what you mean by "is a scammer" I can see that being the case from people who are selling items. Is that person a seller too? Explain please.

Fanned and watching! I am fairly new to listia also. I love it but you do have people on here that will take advantage of you. People bid and then don't follow through, they sell and don't send the stuff out. It is a sad fact. I try very hard as I am sure you do to make sure I follow up, on both bids on and selling as I do both. And I always make it right, not matter what goes wrong!! If it doesn't arrive intact, I replace it and if it doesn't meet standard I make up for it any way necessary. But I think it is just a matter of caring enough. You will do great on here. I want this for my sister... She will love it. Thanks for listing it and Fanned and watching!
Sorry I got off on a tangent...

See, that kind of worries me to a certain extent. I'll give you an example and I'm not nit picking this person..

I won this auction the other day, my first auction I've ever bid on:

http://www.listia.com/auction/3678992

The seller has not contacted me so I can pay her.

You'll notice the auction ended for 5050 credits.

To put this in perspective. When I signed up, I bought $40 worth of paypal credits, or 6000 credits.

So was it a good deal for me? Possibly, but then again, look at THIS auction:

http://www.listia.com/auction/3859471

It went for 1 point higher then the speakers that I won went for.

Obviously the person who was giving away the item had expected a higher rate of return, their GIN price was something like 63000 credit.

It's things like that, that make me hesitate. I gave away a $10 subway gift card for more credits then an $80 set of speakers with $22 shipping?

I can't say I would honestly be surprised if the seller ignores my correspondence. I'm sure she is sickened by the end result of credits to be gained, as I would be if this auction ended for the current 5000+ amount that it is now.

Sorry I've been offline for a couple days due to an ice storm. I never said you couldn't ship international for a lower rate, I said you couldn't do so and get accurate tracking and confirmation when doing so if you want to insure the item arrives at it's destination. FCI and FRP only track to customs. After that there is no tracking from customs and beyond. You can believe me or not, or you can believe whoever. There are also many postal employees who have no clue what they are talking about. I've been burned because of those employees. I won't be again. I'm not trying to be rude here but was only trying to help. The gal who used to be our postmaster is also an ebay TRS and thankfully because of that she's taken it upon herself to learn fully about international shipping so she doesn't have these types of problems. She knows the ropes inside and out from both ends. If I have any questions at all I go to her now. She just retired 4 months ago from being postmaster so she's far from being out of the loop on postal regulations. She still works part-time as a fill in so she also keeps her "hand in the bag" as far as the postal service goes. I trust her implicitly. I wish I'd had her around before when I got burned by using FRP shipping to Canada and had no tracking past customs. I wouldn't have ended up refunded a buyer on ebay when they said they never received their item. Just another heads up.

well for what it's worth, I will ship international at exact rate maybe free if it was worth my while in credits. So is there an INTERNATIONAL LISTIA EXCHANGE RATE somewhere? One that is relative to shipping costs?

Eh, why quarrel over trivial things. If the winner is from out of borders, then something would be worked out one way or another.

And for a sneak peak preview of what what I typically sell online. This laptop is only the beginning. I have TONS of hardware, software, computers, arcade style joysticks, and even collectible BARBIE DOLLS. I'll try to do my best being as accurate as I can about anything I am giving away. Like I stated days ago. I'm starting to look like a hoarder. Will be scrutinizing and compiling other listings for sure if this auction turns out lucrative enough for my tastes.

you write this in the youtube video: "tecnical difficulties i forgot i had it set to external display and not internal .easily fixed by by holding down the fn key and f5".
Tell me something that I can see in the video from youtube or not I stay clear screen netbook has a defect or external monitor works fine without.

If you would like, I'd be MORE THEN HAPPY to upload a new video with this from a COLD BOOT not connected to the external screen. There are ZERO DEFECTS. Anybody with a laptop knows they can switch between internal and external screen using the function key and f5. When I pushed the power button on the laptop while filming, it took me a moment to realize I had it set to my 23" monitor and not the LCD display. If you watch the video, I press the function and f5 key, and this changes the display back to LCD.

One of the things I like about ACER is they produce their own components, where if it was say an HP or a COMPAQ product you'd have to research which motherboard manufacturer they use. Sometimes you get lucky and get a solid built ASUS board, sometimes it's a junk EFI. Some newer Dell computers now use ACER parts, too so I say, get your product from the source. Acer/Dell/eMachine/Gateway are all American/Texas based for servicing and support and related to one another
