A native of Missouri and Arkansas areas. 'A most elegant species...', said Joseph Breck in 1851. The fleshy green and white leaves develop in summer. Self sows.

Hey - these plants are really cool. They start out as a sage green and the white comes out in mid-late summer and really make a show. Easy to start and they self sow. If you don't want them to self sow you clip the seed heads or pull the plant in fall before seeds ripen! These are hard to find seeds.

Thanks for the info...Now, trying to figure out,where I would plant them :-)..have 2 1/2 acres...and I'm sure I can find a special place :-)

Thanks, that's my grandson - Nash. My youngest son Mark 22 named him after my beloved German Shepard I had when I was 25 (now 52). This is his picture as a pup after resuse and he's more adorable now! Beautiful dog.
