these are so awesome...i had a bebe's one for both my pregnancys and to me it was the most beautiful sound to hear my babies heartbeat...i think they say the best time to start trying to find your lil ones heartbeat is after 20 weeks, but you have to be able to decipher your heartbeat from your lil ones. what i did was i listened to my own heart and then i put the monitor down where my lil ones were sitting, and listened for the sound of their heart, to me they sounded like horses running and that is the best way to describe it...it also depends on how your baby is facing, if your baby is facing forward you'll hear their heartbeat easier than if they are facing backwards i believe (don't quote me on that lol) pay attention to where your doc puts the heartbeat doppler on your doc visits too....i know i carried low with my little ones, and especially when they first started getting their heartbeats you had to go almost into your pelvis to get the heartbeat. sorry so long but i hope that helps
