The listing, Hand grown organic dutch hierloom edible sweet peas RARE blue and purple and green pods soup peas has ended.
Very rare organic hierloom vegetables grown by hand by me in my small raised vegetable garden that is made from cedar wood and 100% organic.
These seeds are certified organic and hierloom variety that grew in my garden so you know you are getting fresh true to seed vegetables for you to enjoy.
This variety is an old Dutch hierloom of soup peas (known as blue pod shelling or Blauwschokkers) which is technically a dry/shelling edible sweet pea but they also can be eaten fresh if shelled but they are starchy and taste wonderful raw or cooked. Try cooking them into top ramen noodles or spaghetti.
We were originally interested in this variety to grow as animal fodder for our chickens and rabbits feeds. It serves that purpose well but also makes wonderful split pea soup. The flowers are a striking variety of blue and purple and softpink/white colors that you would think they were purely ornamental and not edible. After the bees come the flowers turn into both some green and some dark bluish purple pods!!!
You get how many seeds come in a pod of each type scince I can't guarantee what seed will produce what color of flower or pea. (6/7) Peas per pod on average
So that means for this listing you will receive aprx. 12-14 seeds!
