The listing, Large Pear Shaped Carnelian Gemstone has ended.

Pear shaped glossy highly polished gemstone, a red/orange carnelian cabochon, much prettier and more interesting looking than the photo. Carnelian is a reddish type of chalcedony, which gives it its translucency. This auction is for one stone that measures an inch and a half long and close to one inch wide, has to be at least 12 carats! Compared with most other gemstones auctioned at this website, this one is huge. The pear shape is perfectly proportioned and flat on the back, ready for mounting or wire wrapping. It would make a superb pendant or bracelet, even ring as really large rings are very much in style right now. The color fades in a couple of places, not large places, but enhances the interest of the stone. This gemstone is of high quality and has a translucency that is really beautiful. Free shipping! Forgot to mention I'm in Hemet, CA - Riverside County. The reddish orange stones in the photo have a dusky quality that the stone I'm auctioning does not. My stone is deep in color, very clear and translucent; not as translucent as an opal but enough to be mysterious and beautiful.

Hi, Please reread the auction description so you'll have all the info. I think, am almost positive, that it's a red jasper, a really large and terrific quality one. The photo doesn't do the stone justice at all. I never describe a stone as a gemstone, which has a specific meaning, unless it is truly a gemstone. There are precious gemstones like diamond, emerald and ruby and a huge bunch of semi-precious like amethyst, topaz, and the opaque stones like this one. This auction is for one large pear shaped gemstone, much nicer in quality than those in the photo, but I don't yet know how to photograph anything and then post the actual photo. Too bad, dagblastit! I'm such a computer illiterate that I don't even know how to put a photo up for myself so all I have is this anonymous generic female silhouette. If you know how to do it and will tell me I'll be forever grateful. Thanks for your inquiry and I hope I've been of some use to you.

I want to add that I am a very fair person and will refund the credits I earn for this beautiful stone if the winner of it feels I misrepresented it in any way. It is so much nicer than the photo and wish I knew how to take a pic of it and post it here at this auction. You will not be sorry if you win this stone!
