Thank you so much for coming to my auction and sharing your ill-conceived perceptions. I'd also like to thank you for presenting me with this oh so fun lose-lose situation. Your comment(whether you intended it or not)serves only to diminish the implied value of my item. So my options are A) Hide your comment. This option is abhorrent to me as it implies that I have something to hide and leaves other bidders wondering what might be wrong with my auction. B) Ignore your comment. This option is even more despicable a choice than the previous. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." -Edmund Burke- C) Respond to your comment and risk igniting heated political discourse in a forum in which said discourse is out of place and rather inappropriate. Seeing as option C,as distasteful as it is, is still the least distasteful, we shall proceed.
First, I have to ask; Why, if this item were yours, would you "want to get rid of this..."? I see four possibilities. 1)You are possibly uneducated and thus suffer from a natural fear of the written word. Have you embarked on a personal crusade to rid the world of books? 2)You are possibly uneducated and thus suffer from a natural fear of history. George Santayana taught us that "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Are you afraid that an inability to learn from the past might lead to you being a victim of a sneak attack by an Imperialist Nation whilst visiting a tropical pacific island? Perhaps your fears have lead you to a policy of Ignorance is bliss and thus you would eliminate all sources of historical knowledge? 3)You have a personal conflict with the co-author William R. Forstchen. Perhaps his Great-great-grandfather cheated your Great-great-grandfather in a hogs for turnips exchange. Two of the four bushels of turnips were rotten. His forefather refused to make good on the deal. This sparked a conflict which quickly raged into a blood feud in which many lost their lives and families were devastated. Does the feud still burn today and this is where you choose to fire the next salvo? 4)Your comment is politically motivated. This leads to yet two more possibilities. 1) You're a liberal. If this is the case, it isn't even worth my time to go into the depths of the uneducated ignorance this disease creates. I will simply pity you. I know that it isn't your fault. Liberalism truly is a mental disease and I whole-heartedly pray for it's eventual eradication and your redemption and those of your ilk. 2) You are a conservative or a so called "independent" who has fallen for the tricks of an agenda-driven media industry. Let's assume your opposition to this book is its connection to Newt. That being the case, lets review some of the other candidates and discuss why they are sub-par choices, compared to Speaker Gingrich.
Mitt Romney: Looks presidential, Speaks presidentially. Of course he was born and raised on politics. He is the definition of a politician. He changes his leanings masterfully. His conservative speak is great! But can we trust it? Would he make the difficult changes that MUST occur to bring our beloved nation back? God, I hope so but my gut and his record says he won't. And didn't we see him before? Oh yeah, when he lost to McCain, who lost to Voldemort. All that being said, he is still leaps and bounds better than then current president.
Ron Paul: His Domestic Policy is music to my ears. If an election were about domestic policy, I believe he would be a landslide victor. However, domestic policy alone does not a president make. Ron Paul's Foreign policy is so shocking and terrifying, it's like finding out the Darth Vader is your father. Hey eveyone!! I have a great idea!! Let's make our nation the greatest most desired place to be on earth and leave it wide open for the taking by anyone wielding a board with a nail sticking out the end, what do you think?!?! No thanks Mr. Paul.
Herman Cain: Mr. Cain would have been an excellent Choice. Sadly he was one of the first to fall to the agenda-driven media complex. He was the first because he was the one they feared the most. I have never been one to be a single-issue hot button voter. Those people are simpletons. However, you give me a candidate who is a proponent of the Fair-Tax and I will give you my vote. The benefits of the Fair-Tax are so great that they are almost incalculable. Look it up, learn, love it, get it tattooed on your ass.
Rick Santorum: Honestly, I still can't get a read on him. He seems to say the right things and seems to be a nice guy. But it is my opinion that we need a nasty bull dog right now. A nice guy just isn't going to get the job done. Still, A helluva better choice than our current prez.
Newt has proven that he is a bulldog. He will do what has to be done. Is he the end all be all? No. Is he flawed? Like every other person on this planet. Some, more so, some less. Regardless, He is the best damn choice out there right now.
Again I wish to thank you for visiting and commenting. I have fanned you. Have a great day and good luck!
p.s. I have purchased several copies of this book for myself and for members of my family. I had one left and decided to post it here. I Hope to share it with a lucky, intelligent individual who will appreciate it for what it is. I have no desire whatsoever to "get rid of it."
Thank you for sharing your views. I am neither, liberal, conservative, nor independent. I believe in the best person for the job whatever their party. My comment was directed at my own personal dislike for Newt Gingrich based on his actions and lack of integrity. Believe me, I in no way wished to diminish the value of your item, anything that has been personally autographed by someone who will be in our history books someday (for whatever reason that may be) will ultimately hold some intrinsic value. If you truly belive that we need a "bull dog", as you describe Mr. Gingrich, willing to do or say anything to be in a position of power to push their agenda on the population, then I believe a dictatorship is what you are seeking, not a system of democracy where every opinion counts and compromise is always on the table, where the people are allowed to voice their legitimate concerns over how our government is run, and who is running it. I cannot see any of that happening with any conservative ticket currently available. Your disdain for the "liberal" party and your belief that a large part of the world is suffering from a "mental disease" only proves to me that with all of your long-windedness, and quotes from famous authors, that you are well-read but still have no grasp on what it means to be "intelligent". Thank you for fanning me and good luck on your auction.
This is a very intriguing conversation .....its not the politicians that will make this country which we are blessed to call home recover....its the people that live here....no one wants to make the sacrifices we are going to have to make...but in order to change....we all must start over...we can't rely on our government alone to solve our problems....we have tried that approach....look what it got us....anyways..back to why we are on this site.....sweet book....nice piece of history....good or bad....sweet book...I would love to own it....fanned and watching!
It was autographed during a book signing event at big named nation-wide chain book store. But as far as documentation or C.O.A., no. Not really a way of getting those at book signings. I included a close-up pic of the autograph itself. That way you can compare it to examples on-line.
