i'm not sure what the metal is, its a gold color,maybe copper? it works,it has pencil lead in it! thank you.

likely it's not that old. It's mechanical, with pieces of lead in it, so it was probably part of a pen and pencil set. Very steampunk, that's why I like it. Probably brass. Cheers.
