Description

The listing, Detroit Tigers Baseball Card Mystery Lot has ended.

I have inherited thousands of baseball cards from the 1970's to the mid-2000's They include stars, rookies, Hall of Famers and, of course, commons. I am offering 25 random cards plus two bonus cards (college, minor league, checklist, etc.). 27 cards total. I cannot promise a certain card or year but can promise each pack will include one rookie or prospect card. There will be no card or player doubles-to the best of my ability. I will continue these auctions until all cards are gone. No cards will be held back as I do not collect baseball cards.

The reason I became a Tigers fan in 1976. I do not remember seeing the bird in any of the packages I made up but not sure. -Don

I have been looking for some cards or something about him, I met him in New Smyrna Beach Fla back in 1977/78 and went out with him while he was there, We lost contact after he was put on a farm team, the last I saw of him, he was doing Jovan Cologne commercials, and once on a show about pulling practical jokes on your friends. I decided to see if I could find him the other night, only to find out he had passed away back in 2009! BUMMER! I was not happy to see that! But I never found out what happened to him. Do you know how he died? anyway, if you find anything, let me know, I will definately bid on it! Thanks! Have a great weekend! =0)

Mark died in a freak accident. Sadly he was working under his truck when the jack slipped. He was home alone and found by a relative, I believe it was his wife. I believe he is in www.findagrave.com. I am still a Tigers fan because of him (and a few others).

Yeah, I googled it last night, only the site I found said he was under the truck alright, but that the fly wheel. (or whatever it is that spins around under there), got a hold of his shirt, and ended up suffocating, probably the same thing as strangulation. and they said he was found by the guy that owned the truck he was working on. Either way, very tragic! Big loss to not only to his family and friends, but fans as well. If you find any cards or books about Mark, please let me know here on Listia. I also found out he had written a book. I forgot the name of it, but I am going to see if I can find it and buy me a copy. Thanks for the info!( also a Mark Fidrych fan! ) I do remember him having a quirky sense of humor! Have a great weekend! =0)

It was a few years ago when I heard it. I read the story when it came out but did not look for updates. The news puts the "probably happened" story out just to get it out and fixes it later. I should have looked into it more. You probably have the right story. I did not know he wrote a book. That I will look for, I'll keep a look out for it. I'll fan you. Thanks, -Don

I've loved the Motor City Kitty's since 1976. I think we'll get to the series this year. Prince better be worth it.
