Nope it's more or less plug and play then fill out the information. Name, Address, Zip code, etc. can keep track of your calls, caller ID, Local and long distance, Voice Mail via email and can be checked through the phone. I use one if you can't tell and I am a IT Specialist.

This one will work it's just the MagicJack Plus doesn't require a computer and this one does. The new one you setup your phone # and just plug it into any broadband internet and plug in power and a Corded/Cordless phone. Which is a pretty nice feature. To read more google Magic Jack and see how great people say it is and I know for sure you can save over $1,000+ within 6 years of having a Magic Jack and paying for internet services. I did a spread sheet on avg pricing of Internet Vs Phone services with the extras this has or comes with.

I will do that for sure. You know what is kinda dumb? I can take my computer apart and install new things but when it comes to something other than my baby I'm lost. lol I have always had HP computers and so I really use their site for manuals. It has saved me so much$ learnin howto rebuild or fix my pcs :o)

I have the majic jack plus , it is the one you can use with or without a computer, along with these units come simple instructions, plug one end into your comp, it will recognize it and instruct you from there on , you will receive a phone number, and as described the cost is 19.95 per year, it is suggested a fast internet service, as I was saying the other end is your telephone line , basically , plug and play. I love mine because you do save loads of money, but the computer does have to be on in order to use the basic majic jack which is the one on sale here in this auction. You will be getting a great deal . Don't pass this one up cause initially this person paid for the unit itself plus a first year of service as well. I say go for it , you won't be sorry you did.

Too bad this isn't the a newer Model. You know you can use this on Broadband/High speed internet and pay $19.95/year for phone service and use it anywhere in the world. it's cheaper if you get the 5 year package.

Yeah too confusing for me..lol I like my easy simple tds. I didn't know they had newer models. I bought this online from the company a few years ago but it was still kept right in its package. I thought it would come with a bool or cd or something.

Hi all sorry wasn't on early today.. No I never activated as I wouldn't know how. I ordered it off line and went to try to figure it out and gave up. I can tear a computer apart and things like that but try to figure something as simple as this. Kinda emabrrassing. Lol
