The listing, Old Folk Window Art has ended.
Here's another piece of my window art. This one is part of my kitchen collection. It is based around the antique butter slicer that is very ancient, kinda like me. The beads adorning the outside edging are from my hippy days. Pretty colors on this one. Green and blue beads on outside and center piece is purple with a mirror backing. Hope you enjoy my creations.

I'd be happy to send my ex, your way! LOL, maybe you could incorporate him into one of your pieces? after u slice & dice him, haha I wouldn't mind doing that part:)
Hello my fellow infiltrators! So,this is our next hostile take-over!Well, I want the CAT! So go ahead and string her up with some nice beads, a fork, and a brooch or two. and set yourself up a nice gin, cause I would want you to make plenty on it! I would call this special piece "the nosy neighbor eliminator".lol, lol!!
LOL, you girls just crack me up. I picked up a special crystal to put on Dawns today. Gonna make her one if she don't win one....Now my cat, thats another matter....she's so spoiled she stinks, surprised you cant smell her. Actually I'm working on one with utensils now. You girls have given me some get up and go. I needed that. Inspired me to get out of this house, and I can thank all of y'all for the boxes, and piles of "stuff" now piled all over my living room.I was laying so dormant after my hubby passed, now i can't sit still. I'm plumb wore out again today from scrounging. Found some interesting pieces though. Was a good day, i'll sleep well tonite.
poor little ole me, I have lots of ideas, even have some beads, rocks sticks etc. just to lazy to make them myself. Guess I'm the designer, now all I need is to find someone to be the ARTIST! hee hee, guess I'm procrastanating!
you are thinking too hard on it. I don't think, I feel. It's not as if you can make a mistake. I have never completed any thing i've started in my mind.
I went out and bought some knives forks spoons, a ladel and some other things to make a wind chime, this was all from the goodwill. thing is, I'm stuck, can't make myself do it. and then, I have no idea on what to do with the ladel, it's got a wooden handle, but metal everywhere else. Now the rest of the stuff, I can figure out, but, I'm still too lazy. oh, poor little ole me.
reading this makes me want to get up and make something lol but its almost 1:30 am and i need to sleep just moved and now have a craft room now just have to set it up and get busy love your art and your woods
I live in the boonies and one nite about midnite I got a hankering to work on a project and I needed some cane growing along a creek bank down at the bottom of the mountain. We hardly ever have traffic on the main road, but that nite the police just happened to come by and decided to investigate the lite out in the woods. They were shocked to find an old granny in her flannel gown with a piece of cane in one hand and a butcher knife in the other, barefoot and beggar lice stuck all over me. LOL The look on their faces was priceless. It took some tall talking to explain what I was up to. Don't think they belived me. My Infiltrator friends on here have inspired my latest creations. I thank them for their encouragement.
oh I don't mind the time at all! so sweet of you to offer, I may just take you up on that:) We did not grow up "spolied" I mean never did without the essentials, Thankfully. My Great Grandfather was a Tailor, with a small storefront shop-(no dry cleaning, not like that) a Tailor. His shop was just a few blocks from their little house in NW DC. As a little girl, I used to love going with him to his shop, well he was such a sweet amazing man, I loved going anywhere with him. If you could only see that street, now as opposed to some 40 yrs ago, It make me cry. Looks so commercial & the area looks spoiled, to me. I remember the pins & chalk! so vividly, as a 5 or 6 yr old little girl!
when I attended high school we had no money for clothing. Mother bought me a sewing machine. I made everything I wore through school except on my sixteenth birthday I did get a store bought dress I just had to have. I even made my formals for the proms.
My feet wanna Infiltrate your grass & moss! Lol and of I could gain 4 or 5 sizes! Those cool stitched Jeans would be on me, soon! I love them, why'd they have to be a 12?! I know, I could send u my favorites older Vintage yup levi's made in USA remember the Red Selvage Lines & some $ if you had the time to create them??' YUP! now my Levi's wanna infiltrate you, too!
Well, we have a plan! Snipe Hunting, lmao! It is quite cold in DC brrr! How's your weather? And please do not make me jealous with the bare foot in the moss picture in my head! I have thermal pants & boots 2 shirts on inside! Well I am hiding in the bathroom smoking a cig, ( shhhh) with the window open! Haha
I stay barefoot most of the year, even during cold months for short jaunts. Today is going to be beautiful. Today I will start collecting for our edible flower orders. I love the flowers and right now there are very few insects to deal with, which makes it even nicer. Spring is my favorite time of the year.
Hey, at one time, them butter slicers were the "IN" thing. Grandma always just had big bowls with her butter slopped in it. After we got thru churning, thats how we did it. We never ate store bought butter. Only went to town once every month or two and that was just for flour and cornmeal and sugar. Everything else we raised or hunted or grew. Now them butter slicers were for the fancy company. If we were lucky enough to have a stick , that is when the store finally stocked it, you just set that thing on top and pushed, and all the slices were perfect to make a fancy spread for the company. Seems like only yesterday.
LOL!! hahaha I wish I had been hiding in the woods listening to your explanation to the police:) But they would have heard me laughing & wondered what I was doing. omg too funny. to be 1000% honest, the first time I saw this piece of your art, I thought of rear view mirror, too! it is so true what you said. When I have a plan in my mind, whatever the project I am working on, it ends up being totally different at the end. it just evolves? or takes on a life of it's own. just wanted to check in say hello & see how you & your neighbors are recovering from the tornados & storms? Hmm still thinking about sending my ex lol! maybe you can send him in one of those long hikes?! he is lost, anyway! but would be nice to have him lost in another state:) well keep up your folk art cause I am determined to own one eventually! Deb
Absolutely love your art! You do spectacular work. My Mother is an artist and my Father was too when he was alive and I promise you your stuff would be right at home at any gallery.
Hey girl, am so glad you got that dang thing since I couldn't put delivery confirmation on it. I KNEW she'd like it, ole hippy girl that she is. Glad it went to a good home. She'd like my beadwork too, lol. Well, maybe some of it anyway. My friend Marie made me put a piece up and the Infiltrater gang decended on me. Am busy today cleaning up from the tornado aftermath. Will holler at ya later.
