Robert DeMario founded his company in New York City in 1945. DeMario worked for Miriam Haskell during the 1940s until he ventured on his own, thus, his creations are sometimes confused with Haskell’s because of the intricacy of the beadwork and pearl designs.

DeMario’s jewelry was distinctive for its clusters of glass beads. His products are usually marked with his name DeMario or DeMario NY.
