It's always a good idea to check out your competition and we've been doing that for several years now comparing our crafting technique & finished products with others who sell similar items(similar but NOT the same, ours are better)
I guess you can say there's no right way or wrong way when it comes to each person's crafting technique. Over the past 2-3 weeks we've purchased 3 different crafted swtichplate covers from 3 different crafters. They're all nicely decorative so they would be a nice upgrade from a plain switchplate cover. All had white mounting screws which I did paint and replace those since that drives me crazy lol
