The listing, OPAL and BLUE SPICE Basil(20 seeds each) has ended.
Opal basil (Ocimum Bsailicum) Is not only beautiful with the dark purple leaves but also all the culinary uses as the green varieties. Really wonderful for salads, all kinds of cooking that include basil but also for homemade vinegars. I grow mine in pots and it stands out among brightly colored flowers and other veggie plants. Plant around tomato plants to keep certain pests away. Very versatile!
Blue Spice Basil (Ocimum Americanum) Is a cross between the Lemon and I believe a purple variety. Has bluish leaves, spicy with a scent of vanilla. This also did very well in pots last year and a very good seller. It's a keeper!
In fact here is a recipe for using this basil....highly recommend. And if you ask me...no, you do not taste a vanilla to it. that is only the scent. It is a good spicy flavor.
