Description

The listing, Historical Motor Scrapbook (7-29-2) has ended.

Floyd Clymer's Historical Motor Scrapbook. 1944. First Edition. 250 early cars and motorcycles illustrated. Includes Ford "2" and "8", Chevrolet V-8, Electrics, Steamers. Pictured on back of front cover: Stanley Steam Car, the fastest car in the world (127.66 miles an hour). Book is full of ads of vehicles most of us never heard of even, like The Duck, 1913, Four Cars in One: A runabout-roaedster, a touring car with great luggage capacity, a four passenger car, a racy sporty looking design. (Picture looks as if the steering wheel sticks up behind two front seats????) $1600 would buy a Cadillac "Thirty" with 112 parts. An Apperson Eight with eighty less parts. The Sears "business man's car" from $325 to $475 with 10 days' trial. Fabulous ads, etc. 160 pages, paperback, 5 1/2" X 8 1/4". inside is clean, covers show wear, especially at bottom of spine (less than an inch). 73 years old; not mint but good condition for age.
