can you tell me exactly what this says on the cd player or what the model number is so I can look it up and just make sure it says mp3, it should say it on the cd player somewhere. I am sorry, but I have already bought 2 of these with the assurance they will play mp3 files and they don't....

it is a durabrand cd player. model number cd-566 It does not mention mp3 anywhere on it. If you mean like going to your media player or I-tunes and burning your mp3 files to disc, yes it plays them. If you mean compressed files of your mp3 library, then no it will not play it. That takes a special type to do that. My car stereo plays compressed mp3 files but my home stereo does not.

I really appreciate you taking time to answer my questions. I think I need to figure out if these are compressed files or not. It is not music files I am listening to. I actually download books and then burn them to cd. I only listen to books on this. I have about 10 books my Neice burnt and I inherited them from her. I am not sure if she compressed them or not and I can't ask because I lost her 2 years ago. Since you will allow me to send a money order I think I will go ahead and take a chance on this. I will try to read up on it on the internet, since you gave me the model number I can look it up and read about it. Thanks again for beng so patient.
