This is an antique Shirley Temple book Heidi. It is paper back. The front cover has a tear from top to bottom, strait down. It is completely loose. I'll leave it for the buyer to repair it to their liking. The inside cover has writing on it. Some pages have a little coloring or paint on at hat, a dress, etc. I don't know if it was made that way or someone added the color. Otherwise all is okey.

Rare find!

I also have original large 12" x 10" photographs of her I can list after I heal from my foot surgery next week. Healing time is 4-6 weeks. All these things I inherited from a great aunt who was a young girl in the 1930s.

No. I added 2 photos of the title page. The book is from when she was a child in movies. Not a newer book.

There is a date. In Roman numerals. Not sure what it is.

You're right! Dumb me! It's right there the whole time. I got out my Roman numeral chart and here it it M is 1000, CM is 900, XXXVII is 37. So that's 1937.

Yes, it is original! The coloring is original. Made in USA. 1937. Registered at Stationers' Hall.
