THIS Stone is native to southwestern New Mexico very unique a true relic of this area it's about 1" long and same wide 1"

Highly polished via tumbling to show off the wonderful coloration and natural patterns, which may resemble the wood from which it was permineralized. Mineral replacement is mostly agate.

Petrified wood results when mineral deposits such as quartz and silica replace and preserve the wood form, gradually becoming minerals like jasper and agate over the course of millions of years.
