Yeah the world is a tough place. I do send them in a padded mailer that costs 50 cents. I have to pay Paypal for their service which is 42 cenhts and the postage is #2 or more depending on your address. If I sent it for 45 cents it would probably be lost in the shredding machine and the post office would ask you to pay postage due on it. Tough isn't it?

Yes, it is plastic. If it was metal it would be pretty heavy and you would get tired working with it. As far as I know this size is always plastic. I made a huge ctocking with huge knitting needles and I had to stop and rest my arms every hour. Nancy
