The listing, TWO (2) $1 1957 B SERIES SILVER CERTIFICATES (1 AU & 1 BLUE STAR CIRCULATED) has ended.
The year 1957 marked the Last Printing of Silver Certificates and the First Time "IN GOD WE TRUST" marked the bills (except for some 1935G series). Once the price of silver had significantly risen above the worth of a dollar, and due to the diminishing of silver stock piles with the cashing in of the bills for various forms of silver, the Silver Certificates finally met their demise in 1968, June 24.
Bill #1 is a "Blue Star" note: Looks like this George made it around the block quite a bit! A STAR Note is a note with a STAR (*) in the prefix or suffix position of the serial number. These notes are typically used to replace a note damaged during the printing process to maintain the correct count of notes in a serial number run. Many Silver Certificate notes met the shredder, especially the well worn ones. But also in the '70s, unissued Silver Certificates, were available from Uncle Sam to the public for collector's items (though still viable currency, but not redeemable for silver.)
Bill #2 may have never been spent, as 'ol Georgie is without marks and quite crispy! But most likely due to the way he was preserved he has a slight wave on the mid upper left.
Both backs of these bills have the same "back plate' number "415"~
Sooooooo, if you're like me, and ya can't afford a 1957 Chevy, you can still get something that's kinda sorta as cool from then!
