The listing, 1913 Culion Leper Colony 1 Peso Coin has ended.

For your consideration I am offering this 1 Peso Culion Leper Colony Coin. Only 8600 were minted. This aluminum coin was minted when the Philippines was a U.S. colony. Nobody wanted to handle Leper items at the time thinking that leprosy could be transmitted by touching something a leper had touched so they printed money just for the colony.

These go for about $20.00 more or less on Ebay which you can check. This is a great, interesting, piece of world history. A coin with a whole story behind it.
