Thanks for answering, as I noticed that I had not listed the writing in the book. That note is dated 1992; copyright date is 1968. I am guessing the book is for young people, not necessarily for "kids". Note the size of the book(let); the printing is larger than most books. The author has written in fairly simply sentences, but very young "kids" would probably have trouble with the meanings of a few words. Some pictures, and many sketched pictures make the book a nice "look-book" for children.....if one likes snakes!!!!! On the other hand, I found it interesting, easy to read, enjoyable; but then since I am rapidly becoming closer to that century old mark, maybe I am in my third (fifth?) childhood. I know this really doesn't answer your question, but it is the best I can do.

Checking to answer a question, we noticed that we had not noted that inside the front cover is a "to and from" note, in ink.
