oh they live all year long for many years just like any other cactus. They like well draining soil and can be grown in a pot and still fruit.

I couldn't get mine to pollinate. The flower blooms at night and we don't have many flying insects at night here in southern California. I finally gave in and hand pollinate it. I've had plenty success since. It's a great plant. Good auction.
