Up for bids: A really nice 1909 VDB Wheat Penny from the first year Wheat Pennies were made! In case you don't know, VDB are the initials of Victor David Brenner, the man who designed the Wheat Penny. VDB inscribed coins are VERY collectible and not all 1909's have this on them. Very few were minted...

As you can see, this is a nice coin in much better than average condition, especially considering that it is over 100 years old! If you don't have a 1909 VDB in your collection, now you can fix that!

Values of coins is subjective based on the condition and the demand. I've seen these go for a wide range of prices. They certainly aren't going down in value, I can tell you that. The non-S variety (which this is) range in value, according to the 2012 Red Book, from $11.00 to $2,750 ... This isn't an $11 one, it's nicer. And it's not a $2,750 one ... What do you think it'll go for here on Listia?

You were right. This is a nice VDB. As far as the shipping, I normally ship my coins standard mail with confirmation. $2.80 normally covers it.

Yep... ALWAYS check your 1909 wheat pennnies. If you found you have a VDB with an S mint-mark, you'd have a very valuable penny. That's one of the top five most desirable wheat pennies!
